FIU researchers using nanotechnology to fight cancer

The promising field of nanotechnology — creating and using materials at the tiniest atomic level — is advancing here at Florida International University. Dr. Sakhrat Khizroev, BSI member, physicist and electrical engineer, and a team of researchers in FIU's College of Engineering and Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine have created a new drug delivery technology using so called smart particles to attack cancer cells inside malignant tumors.
